Adelyn 7 Years Old

• Who is your favorite person in the world?  Oranjubornju.  Seriously.  She loves this cat.  But other than the cat I'd say me and Mason.  
• What is your favorite color?  Hot Pink
• What is your favorite television show?  Adelyn doesn't really watch tv.  She really likes the movie Encanto that just came out, but I wouldn't say that that's her favorite.  Adelyn rarely gets the remote so she doesn't usually choose the show.  She does like to watch funny cat videos online.
• What is your favorite animal?  Cats.  All things cats.  And tigers.
• What is your favorite outfit?  Her kitty dress with the pink leggings as shown in her pictures.  She's still a leggings kind of girl.  She does have a cute fashion sense and likes to let me dress her up in cute skirts, dresses, and outfits.  She's VERY particular in her hair.  It has to be perfect.  She prefers to wear it down or if she does let me pull it back it has to be back with a 'swoop'.
• What do you like learning at school the best?  Reading
• What song do you love? Adelyn has a whole playlist on Spotify that has such a unique collection of songs.  She really likes a genre I'm not sure what to call, but upbeat house music with fun sounds.  Some of her favorite songs are: Frisbee by Axhello - I'm not sure what else.  I'll have to ask her.
• What is your favorite food?  Meatloaf, Twix, Bug Noodles from Pizza Pie Cafe, Artichoke, 
• Who are your best friends? Lexi Tawser, Annie ?, Mavie Maughan, Sadie ?
• What are you really good at?  Empathy.  Adelyn is so kind and loving to everyone.  She is such a sweet heart.  She is good at snuggling, running, drawing, reading, dancing, and being a bug.
• Where do you wish you could go on vacation? Disneyland.  She asks when we can go back to Disneyland ALL THE TIME.  I think she liked it there.  She also wants to go back to Moab.  She's an outdoors girl. 
• What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?  Bubbblegum
• What is your favorite toy?  Her giant stuffed tiger that is the same size as she is.  She carries it around with her everywhere she goes.  She also loves all her stuff animal cats/tigers/lions/whatever feline she has.  She has them all lined up on her bed.
• What do you like to do best with your friends? Play with toys and laugh
• What do you hope you'll get before your next birthday? 

Adelyn is such a joy to have in our family.  I don't know why but seeing her grow keeps catching me by surprise.  Her legs are getting so long but she's still just as sweet as ever.  She has a great laugh and gets along great with everyone in our family.  I've enjoyed watching her and Wyatt's relationship grow over the past little while.  They have a cute imagination together.  We sure love you Addie and are so happy you are ours.

Adelyn's 7th Birthday

This was Adelyn's first year where she got to have a birthday party with friends!  She wanted to go to the Bounce and Slide.  They all had such a fun time together.

 

We had Lexi Tawser, Sadie and her twin?, Rosie Arkoudas, and Tesa ?, and Mavie Maughan.

Adelyn got very spoiled on her birthday.  She got the lego set that she saw in Disneyland and has been wanting ever since.  I took her Taco Bell for lunch at school and she wanted me to stay on the playground with her while she played.  That night we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner where she got steak and actually got up on the bull when they sang to her!  We didn't even have to try and persuade her... she went willing!!  I can tell she's trying to emerge from her shy shell sometimes.  We love you Addie bug!!

October Randoms

Fall caught me off guard this year with how beautiful it was.  The colors changing were gorgeous and there were many warm fall days where I just sat taking it all in with my babies.

We did have a freak storm that came the second week of October before most of the leaves had fallen off.  The snow piled so high on the branches causing many of them to break.  It caused a ton of damage again, just like the wind storm last year.  The whole neighborhood and city of Logan looked like a tornado had gone through with all the damaged trees.  We were all awoken at 5 am with the electricity going off and the sound of a tree snapping right out the window.  It was a pretty intense morning as we all went outside to try and shake the snow from the branches as best we could.  It was eerie because you could hear massive trees breaking all over the neighborhood.  You could also see electrical boxes blowing up that would light up the sky in this strange pinkish color for about 5 seconds.  It's was wild.  We came in after about 30 minutes.  Right as we came in we were sitting on the couch in the dark and we hear this giant BOOM that sounded like something had shaken the whole house.  Boone looks out the window and it looks like the Hansen's house across the street is up in flames.  I call 911 and we go running out but stop at the bridge bc the branches were falling like crazy and I couldn't tell if there were wires down or not.  Suddenly the blaze goes out just as fast as it started.  I yell to ask if they are okay and text Stephanie.  She responds that, yes, they are okay and sends me the picture of the tree that was laying on their wires causing the fire.  It went out as soon as the fire burned through the tree that was laying on the wires.  About that time the fire department showed up and made sure everything was okay just as another transformer blew up in the distance.  The fireman said, "Well, I guess I'll go check on that one."  The kids and I went inside and snuggled on the bed under lots of blankets being the electricity was still out.  The girls and I fell asleep and the boys went and played.  School was delayed two hours.  What a morning!!  I'm tired of losing so many trees each year!!!!

Here's another story:  We went to the Heritage Center one night to go through the corn maze.  As we were getting ready to enter Marae and Wyatt went in the entrance a little bit before the rest of us did.  They both came back out complaining that something had spilled on them.  It was totally dark so we couldn't see what it was.  Marae kept saying it got into her mouth and tasted so disgusting.  She was freaking out and had to drink some hot chocolate to get the taste out of her mouth.  I assumed it was coffee or something that someone had spilled on her.  We all entered the corn maze and began walking through.  A little while in Wyatt says, "Ewwww... what is this disgusting stuff?  He was wiping his hands in whatever had been spilled on him and tasting it."  I turn on my phone light and shine it on him to see that he is covered in barf.  Yup.  Someone threw up on Marae and Wyatt getting some in her mouth and then Wyatt putting in his mouth later.  I grab him, rip his coat off and try and wipe the vomit off on the corn husks.  It smelled awful.  Marae began freaking out once she realized what it was.  Mason started dry heaving.  It was disgusting and insane and then hilarious because once you reach a level of madness like that, all you can do it laugh.  So gross... and I want to know who vomited on my children without saying anything to us about it!  I have a feeling this will be brought up every single time we enter a corn maze from here on out.  Gross!!

I finally ran into my dad by chance.  He's been waiting for that day to happen since they moved here.  It was at Walmart.  He cried bc he was so happy to be living in the same town as me to be able to have the chance to just 'bump into each other'.

It finally happened... My dad has been waiting for the moment, since he moved up here, when we would randomly run into each other in public.  I spotted him at Walmart one morning.  I took a picture of him from behind and then we had a good laugh about.  He actually cried bc he was so happy that he lives in a city where he can randomly run into his daughter.
