Getting to Know Marae

My sweet baby Rae is getting so big so fast!  Her little personality is beginning to come out and just last week she gave us her first smile.  Here are a few random shots of Little Marae.

I caught a couple mini smiles on camera today.  She's only given us one gigantic gummy smile and that was in the bath on Monday.  I keep hoping I'll see another one soon.  Her favorite place to give out smiles is on the changing table looking up at the flowers I made her.  I just loved her expression in all of these!!

This one was from a couple weeks ago.  She's already changed since then!!

Mason wanted to capture her little old Grandma buns to embarrass her with later.

Marae's Blessing

Sunday we blessed Marae in church.  The day went smoothly and Marae enjoyed her special day.  I sure do love my little family.  I am so blessed by all three of these darlings.  This picture below makes me so happy.  I am so happy I have the knowledge and blessing of eternal families.  How blessed am I to be sealed to them for forever?  Heavenly Father has blessed me more than I deserve.

This is the best I got of her in her dress.  Oh well.  I'm not sure what was going on with her hair.  I still haven't figured out how to tame the fro.

Mason's parents flew in the day before the blessing.  It's always fun to have Nanna and Poppa visit!

Laura and Tom wanted to take a nap and Boonie decided he'd join them.  That lasted about 1 minute.  Silly thing.

Mason's Birthday - Pinetop

My Mace had a birthday!!  I sure do love this guy and how great of a daddy he is.

Baby Marae is inspired by his hair and stares at it all the time.  Someday she hopes her hair is as gorgeous as his.  I think she's well on her way.

Baby pyro?

We celebrated Mason's birthday the day after the actual day by going up to Pinetop for a little getaway. I'd been telling Mason how beautiful it was up there.  We stayed at the Roundhouse Resort, had a nice dinner (where I don't believe we were both ever sitting at the table at the same time... one or the other of us was up bouncing Marae in the next room - but still), and went on a gorgeous hike.  It was really nice and relaxing.  Boone stayed home with my parents because had a cold and we didn't want him getting worse or getting the baby sick (it happened anyway).

We hiked the Rim Trail close to sunset.  I truly want to live somewhere I can go on hikes year round.  I just love it.  Marae enjoyed the fresh mountain air and the scent of daddy's chest.

We passed an old hiker and asked him to take our picture on my phone....  there were 4 taken, but these are the best 2.  My bad. 

We sat on these rocks for a while and watched the sunset.  It was beautiful.

I couldn't tell how any of these pictures were coming out on my phone because the sun was so bright.  But I wanted to catch these moments and remember them always.  They just looked so sweet.

We also went up to Flagstaff and a couple other cities up north to see if we would be interested in living there.  We loved Flagstaff.  It's so beautiful there.  I sure do wonder where we will end up...

Marae - 1 Month

My sweet little Raybie-Baby is already a month!  Actually she's getting close to 7 weeks so I better get this post done!  Her stats for her appt were:

Weight: 9.5lbs - 50 Percentile

Length: 22 inches 75-85 Percentile

Head Circumference: 14.2 - 25 Percentile

This little girl is beyond adorable.  She has started cooing and making noises that we just adore.  Sometimes she scrunches her body up and grunts like a little gargoyle.  She also makes a squeaky hickupy sound that reminds me of Yoshi (you know, Mario's pet).  Her hair is hilarious and so much fun to style.  She honestly is a mini Mason.  His baby pictures look just like her especially with all that hair.  I love her to death and just love to stare at her sweet little face.  

For a while there we thought she may have had colic.  She would just cry in the evenings/night for no reason.  But luckily she has outgrown that already.  That's what's nice/sad about babies.  The phases go by so quickly.  She's a pretty good sleeper at night.  I can't complain.  It takes a little while to get her to fall asleep but then usually only gets up once around 2:30 - 3:00 and then around 5:30 when Mason leaves.  If only I could fall back asleep at 3:00 though!!  This mama gets pretty tired.

I love my little girl.  There is just something so sweet and special about her that I can't get enough of.  It's amazing how a mother's love just grows.  She's perfect (except for the flat spot on her head that worries us) and I am so thankful that she is mine.  I love you sweet baby Marae.

Boone at 2 Years

My darling Boonie is well into his terrible terrific twos.  Depending on the moment he can be the most darling boy or your worst nightmare.  Bless his little heart.  I love you Boonie.

My mom and I had fun taking his two year old pictures.  The corn field we went to was right next to a dairy farm with lots of cows.  We were trying to get him to smile and asked if he saw a cow.  He got really nervous and kept looking around worried.  That totally back fired and was really funny.  It wasn't until I gave him the harmonica that he loosened up again.  Silly little boy!

He is starting to put together basic sentences.  Our favorites have been, "Come on guys." and when Mason asked him whose chair that was he said, "My daddy's chair."
