Hatching Ducklings

We had the opportunity to hatch ducklings!  We borrowed an incubator from some friends.  Stripe and Nelson were both laying fertilized eggs.  Chicken Fee sat on most of them for along time when she went broody.  But I think she took too many breaks during the day and none of hers made it.  We collected some other eggs from Stripe and Nelson and rotated the eggs daily until they hatched.  It was such an amazing thing for the kids to see.  It was beautiful and a chance to see God's hand in the life cycle of ducks.

We were able to switch out the dead eggs from under Chicken Fee and put the ducklings underneath.  She took to them and is a fantastic mother.  It's adorable watching all those babies squeeze under her and follow her around the yard.  There were two Nelson babies and 7 Stripe babies.  That's a whole lotta ducks!

Oh and those broken eggs from Wyatt... he was just helping bring in the eggs on afternoon. Thanks a lot Wyatt!!

April Randoms

Both of my parents came to visit this month.  It was fun to hang out with them.  We went with my mom to the Heritage Center for baby animal days.

Boonie had a class assignment during spring break to take Flat Stanley around and document the things he did.  Hence all the pictures with the paper guy.

The girls had a dance concert.  Adelyn was a dancing angel and Marae's class did a circus theme song.  It was cute to watch and they did such a good job.

We did some landscaping in the front yard and enjoyed the first signs of spring.  Boone had his one and only Pinewood derby.  His car won 3rd place!  Impressive for his first car!
