March Randoms

March was the month that Adelyn decided to cut her own hair... She claims she had a burr in it.  She had come to me and asked me to cut it out but I was busy feeding the baby.  So she took matters into her own hands.  LUCKILY she had her hair up in a ponytail so she only snipped the sides.  She gave herself an awesome mohawk that can be nicely covered up when her hair is down.  Ponytails and braids look a little strange, but I honestly can't complain because I've seen other kids do HACK JOBS on their hair.  Oh Addie....

Other highlights include getting a new swing in the back yard, planning Enrichment with Chinese laterns, Boonie's pile of laundry being 3 times larger than the girls because he's too lazy to put his clothes away and always throws clean clothes in the dirty clothes, me taking the older two kids to the ballet Sleeping Beauty and taking goofy pictures while waiting, Adelyn finding her beloved cat devouring a mouse - taking it away from him and bringing it to me to try and fix it, and attending the West Jordan temple open house.

Wyatt's 1st Month

Wyatt's 2 Week Stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 3 oz - 50th percentile
Height: 22 3/4 inches - upwards of the 98th percentile

It's hard to believe how fast this past month has gone - especially compared to the eternal last month of pregnancy.  Prepare yourself for me to say that each and every month.  I've been soaking this baby in as much as possible.  He's such a precious little thing.  We all just adore him.

One months facts about Wyatt:
  • He just loves to sleep.  He slept pretty much non stop the first 3 weeks of his life.  He's the sweetest little snuggle bug - and I love it.  He like to sleep in his swing, but without it on.  He will sleep with it on occasionally, but he likes it motionless.
  • He's a binkie baby.  He loves his binkie.  I told Mason that I think he just likes to yell because he doesn't have him binkie in.  Pretty much anytime it isn't in - he'll let you know.  Either he will be a major talker - or a major complainer when he grows up.
  • He got a terrible cold at two weeks old.  Now that was a scary and sleepless time.  It was right when Mason took the kids to California.  He caught the nasty cold that everyone else had.  He couldn't breathe through his little nose he was so congested.  He couldn't sleep, couldn't eat... poor little guy.  I was so worried about him.  He developed a terrible cough.  Luckily that only lasted about 9 days!!!!!  He's over it now - at the one month mark.
  • He loves to look at bright lights.  He will stare towards the windows or light fixtures all bright eyed.
  • He loves to bend backwards.  Not sure why - but he likes to arch his back and put his head back to look at things.  Silly little baby.
  • He was quarantined pretty much the entire first 3 weeks of his life.  The kids were all so sick and we didn't want them around him.  No one was allowed to go past our bedroom door.  It's only been the past week that he has been able to come out and about in the world and actually be a part of the family.
  • Now that he IS part of the family, and actually being seen, the kids just love him.  They ask to hold him all the time.  I have a feeling he's going to be the most popular one around here his whole life.  We've only had one accident... we were watching a movie as a family Sunday night and when it ended Boonie tossed the remote my direction for me to turn it off (not thinking) and it hit the poor baby in the face - he was so dead asleep that he only cried out in pain for a second and then fell back asleep.  Boonie felt so bad... it's an adjustment for the kids to remember he's around!
  • It took his belly button exactly one day short of being one month old to come off.  The doctor said the it was a big placenta and sometimes those take longer to heal.  We could still see the slime connecting the bottom of the placenta every time we would check.  So he only had 2 baths all month long and one the night before his 'birthday' - stinky little baby.  Adelyn called it a booger.  She asked where the 'booger' went.  It fell off while Mason was holding him one time.  So now the booger is somewhere around the house.
  • He loves diaper changes.  If he's angry or fussy about something, just take him over to the diaper changer and he's happy as can be.
  • He had a permanent angry line between his eyes that would wrinkle every time he'd cry.  It's starting to fade now, but it sure was cute.
  • He likes to huff and puff when he's thinking about getting angry.  He'll breathe in and out really fast huffing and puffing over and over.  It's pretty dramatic and cute.
  • He's a doll and I just adore him.  Mason calls him my little man who has replaced him... which is basically has for the next couple of months.  I just try and snuggle him as much as possible.
  • His nicknames are: Little Tiny, Wy-Guy, Wylie, Baby Quiet, Little Man, Little Bear, Bug, and Princess (I try not to say this one, but it pops out every now and then... I guess I got use to it with the girls).
