April Randoms

Our biggest highlights in April were getting our baby chicks and ducks.  The ducks grew so fast!  The new chicks names are Goldie, Buddy 3, and Snowy.  The ducklings are named Nelson, Rex, and Stripe.

Marae is a naughty naughty naughty thing.  This is what I pulled out from behind her dresser.  She's been hard at work stashing and working on those cavities.

Unfortunately we decided to get rid of Fuzz.  He was just too dangerous around the kids.  As you can see he pecked Adelyn's face really badly one day.  He had her cornered under the trampoline one day and got her about 14 times.  He barely missed her eyes.  I ran as fast as I could across the yard but couldn't get there fast enough.  We were all sad to see him go.  Some random Mexican came and picked him up.... We all like to think that he's living a wonderful life.

The girls finished up their dance class with a celebration at the Crepery.  We use to go there after dance class and enjoy a Nutella crepe.  I love my days with my girls.

The girls dance recital was adorable.  They had two performances on the big stage.  The last performance Addie came out, fell down, and got whisked off stage.  Poor thing.  She made it out for the final pose though....  Cute little birds.

Wyatt's 2nd Month

Weight: 11 pounds
Height:

My little baby boy is 2 months old.  2 months ago feel like a very, very long time ago.  We continue to have lots and lots of snuggle parties.  The older kids still thing he's the most hilarious thing that they've ever seen with each little hiccup, toot, burp, head bang, and barf.  He's just started smiling this coy little smile that is the most beautiful thing ever.  We all adore him.

Things Wyatt does at 2 months:
  • He just started smiling...  daddy is usually able to get the most immediate smiles out of him.  I have to coax them out a little.  The other morning Mason came into the room and I said, "He's kept me up ALL night..."  Mason leaned over and said, "Do you like torturing your mommy at night?" and he burst into the biggest smile - either because he does enjoy torturing me or he likes his daddy.
  • His facial expressions are the cutest.  He gets what we call kitty whiskers on his upper lip when he's happy.  These usually come before a smile and sometimes they just stay for a while as he stares.
  • When he focuses on your face he goes crossed-eye...  Every time.  And he always opens his mouth and flares his lips like a little duck billed baby.  He looks pretty goofy.  This face along with heavy breathing and it makes his eye contact moments pretty entertaining.
  • We are still working on sleeping.  Some nights he will sleep a couple good 3 hour stretches... which I appreciate... other nights he's up every hour and a half claiming that he's starving to death.  Those nights are rough.
  • Nicknames:  Little Bear, Monkey (his dark hair makes him look like a little chimp looking over our shoulders), Wiley, Smiley Wiley, beauty (I know... that's weird, but he is a beautiful baby).
  • He loves his binkie.  If he's awake and not being fed... he wants his binkie or he will usually complain.
  • He still sleeps like a newborn.  He just can't seem to stay awake longer than an hour.  He sleeps most of the day still.  I always think that all this sleeping is going to keep him up at night, but it doesn't seem to change anything.  He's just a sleepy little tiny baby.
  • He loves his mommy.  He loves to snuggle and I LOVE it.
  • He likes his carseat - thankfully.  He is always happy in his carseat if the car is moving.  When the car stops he gets angry.  This makes running the older kids around easy.  Thank you little baby.  Pretty much all my other babies hated their carseats.
  • He's a dolly.  I just love to dress him in his clothes.  I feel like he's my newest toy that I just get to bring out every now and then.  He finally went to church this month making his grand appearance.  Everyone always says how beautiful my babies are.
  • People say that he 'fits the mold' looking like all the other Lefler babies.  He does.  He's cute.
  • He has DIMPLES on his cheeks.  Please, please, please never let him grow out of these.  They are perfect.
  • I'm still trying to soak in each and every one of these fleeting baby moments.  He's starting to fill out and turn into a chunky baby.  Oh honey... don't do it.  Don't do what all my other babies did and grow up...
  • You'll see a picture of Wyatt sitting in his carrier from my 6 week check up... let me tell you about that.... Now THAT was an emotional day that came unexpectedly.  I couldn't stop crying because it was the official end of all doctoral things baby.  I didn't even see that one coming... usually I can anticipate these emotional events but this one came unexpectedly about 4 hours before the appointment.  My heart was breaking that this would be my last doctors appointment dealing with a baby ever... I cried before, I cried all the way there, I cried when my midwife came in the room, and I cried all the way home.  That's it.  The end of an era.  My body has made some beautiful creations that I love.  What an experience.
