October includes joy school adventures, flag football, apple picking and pressing into 55 gallons of juice, lots of hikes trying to soak up the last weeks before snow, EARLY snow, Grandma coming to visit, Witches Night Out, a trip to Lagoon, the pumpkin walk, Boone working hard to earn his scout Wolf and Bobcat, and my favorite burrito that my mom brought for me from Casa Grande from Ochoa's (simply the best burrito in the world) bc she loves me.
Adelyn has the cutest little group of neighborhood friends to do joy school with. It's so fun getting to know them better.
Mason coached flag football for Boonie's team. They did well. Boonie was the quarterback bc he threw the best but he didn't want to be because the quaterback never gets to score by running the ball in. We kept trying to explain to him that that's the best position, but some things can't be explained. His team was the chiefs.
Mason and the kids picked a ton of apples over at the Knight's house across the street. He took the apples over to a local orchard where they pressed it into some DELICIOUS apply juice. I think he came home with 55 gallons. We put it in our freezer. All that hard work paid off!
I went to witches night out with my girlfriends on Hollow Road. It was such a fun night of dancing - something I sure miss doing more often.
We went to Lagoon one weekend in October during Frightmares. It was the first time taking the kids there. They had a blast. We had Adelyn and Wyatt during the day and then sent them off with Mckell Jackson who lived close by for the night. It was hilarious during the night when all the monsters came out. Kid could get a glowstick from the front desk letting all monsters know everywhere that they didn't want to be scared, but we didn't end up getting any. Well one monster saw Marae and I walking and she was looking the opposite direction and didn't see him coming. He got right up behind her and said, "Boo!" She took off screaming, "I'M WEARING A GLOWSTICK!! I'M WEARING A GLOWING STICK!!" And she would do this anytime any monster came near. It was hilarious and surprising how scared both older kids were of all the monsters. And the haunted houses were beyond their capacity to withstand. Even the cheesy little kid one had the girls hiding under Mason (as you can see in the picture).
We rode all the roller coasters with the big kids once the little ones left. It was so fun. It ended up raining later that night so lots of people left. We were able to walk on to all the big roller coasters. I'm surprised I had it in me to go on them! Rae and I refused to go on Cannibal until the very last ride of the night. Mason convinced us to go on it. I DID NOT WANT TO. Nope. Not at all but I didn't want to be a killjoy so I worked up the courage to go. Well we got on the ride and they buckled us in and I'm about to have a heart attack but staying brave.... well the ride breaks down so we have to sit there for like 15 minutes. I couldn't handle it. I was panicing the whole time. If we would have just gone it would have been over with. It was more than I could handle. After 15 minutes I insisted that we get off. I'm not sure if it ever got back up and running that night but Mason as sure disappointed bc he likes to see me suffer on those horrible drops. Lucky for me, I dodged that bullet but still looked brave for being willing. Whew.
Everytime Grandma is here visiting for the pumpkin walk we take a picture of her in the bus with the grandkids. I think there have been 3 different bus pictures where another kid gets added in. This time the bus is almost full!
