Allison's 39th birthday

 

January Randoms

 This month started off with our first child to get braces!  Boonie has lost all his baby teeth so he gets to get braces.  He chose the colors of his favorite football team that he wants to win for the Superbowl - black and red.  He had quite a bit of pain the second day and had a hard time eating anything.  In fact he hardly ate anything so much so that he almost passed out the next day near lunchtime from lack of food.  We had gone down to Salt Lake for the monster truck rally and he was afraid to eat anything bc they hurt so much.  We found him some soft chili at Crown Burger (that's where we were for lunch) and he perked back up after he got some food in his system.  Poor kids, thought he'd never be able to eat again.  He was fine after that first day.

The monster truck rally was fun.  The kids loves seeing the big trucks and voting on which did the best tricks.  Wyatt loved seeing his toy cars come to life.  His favorite was Grave Digger.

The biggest moment this month though was when Boonie received the priesthood.  Both of his grandfathers were able to be in the circle as he was ordained.  It was a beautiful afternoon and interesting as his mother to see him becoming a man right before my eyes.  It was also interesting to see a distinct difference between the two of us now that he has the priesthood.  I'm so proud of the person he is becoming.

A 'not so high moment' was when the sewer pipe burst under the crawl space and we began to clean things out BEFORE we know what it was... horrific.  All I can say at this point was the plumber said, "8 feet of solids were backed up in the busted pipe."  I.  CANNOT.  EVEN.  That's all I will say about that situation.

Marae participated in the science fair.  Her project was the bouncing egg.  She did a great job and did the poster mostly on her own.  Cute little Rae Rae!

Midway

 For Christmas we gave the kids a trip to Midway.  Tom and Laura gave the kids the gift of Soldier Hollow sledding and came with us.  We stayed in a hotel with a pool, ate dinner in a snowglobe, went to Soldier Hollow (where we went down 2 times - the kids did not particularly love this one) and went to the ice castles.  The ice castles were BEAUTIFUL!!!
