January Randoms

At the beginning of January my old roommates from college (and my bridesmaids) got together for the first time in  YEARS!!  Kara Miller, who lives in California, came out to visit Park City with her husband so Natalie De StJoer and I drove to meet her.  We had a delicious dinner at a fancy restaurant and spent many many hours talking.  It was a lot of fun.  I love friends where you can pick up right where you left off.

I was suppose to have my ankle surgery the 3rd week in January, but we all came down with the plague and caught COVID.  We think Boonie brought it home from school because that is the only sickness we were around and all he had was a stuffy nose.  The kids all had it (bc we had to all get tested) but they showed no symptoms at all.  Mason and I felt pretty awful for about 5 days.  The first 3 days were the worst - body aches, super tired - it just felt like an extreme cold to me.  We did end up losing our taste and smell once we started to feel better which was weird.  That lasted about a week.  One week after Boonie had it he broke out in a rash.  Luckily it didn't last too long.  So there you have it, we contracted the disease and lived to tell the tale complete with quarantine and all.  On day 5 of having COVID it snowed beautiful fluffy snow and I was worried it would be the last good snow for sledding, which it did end up being, so I took the kids sledding.  Mason was amazed at how I felt good enough to do that.  It wiped him out worse than it did me.
