Mason had a business trip to New Orleans and I decided to tag along. We went right after Thanksgiving and left the kids with the Lefler's. They kids were sad we were leaving. We haven't left them without either one of us since they were old enough to remember.
My goal of the trip was to eat all the food. And I did. We had beignets daily. We ate at an amazing restaurant called Rebirth where we had the most delicious porkchops, corn bread, and bread pudding of my life.
We went on a tour of the plantation homes. We visited Oak Alley and Laura Plantation. It was winter when we were there but it was still so beautiful. We toured the house and the gardens. Learning about the slave quarters and how things were handled back then was very eye opening. It had a very somber feeling amidst the dark history of what plantation homes were all about.
I spent a lot of time on my own while Mason was in his conference. I took lots of pictures of my food and sent it to my family being Kyle had been there recently.
On the last day we rented electric bikes and rode around a big park in New Orleans along with going to an outdoor statue museum.
