Here I am in all my largeness glory. 36 weeks pregnant with our last little baby. Oh we ALL can't wait to meet you little man. I went to the doctor this past week and I wasn't dilated at all... all she said was that my cervix was softening. So it sounds like he's nice and snug for a bit longer - which I'm okay with except for the sleeping factor - there isn't a lot of sleeping going on right now. Too many aches and pains.
My Pregnancy Thus Far:
Total Weight Gained: 35 pounds. A couple weeks back I decided to ask my midwife said how I was comparing in weight to Adelyn's pregnancy. At that point I was about 10 pounds heavier than I had been with Adelyn. Granted... I have never been pregnant over Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I do feel like i have a LITTLE excuse. Little. But things seem to be evening out now because my appetite has disappeared. Food is pretty gross at this point - and so is cooking.
Baby Update: He's doing well. At my last appointment the midwife said that he was facing the posterior direction - he's backwards. So he needs to turn in the next couple weeks. My plan is to do this baby natural and posterior births are always much harder - so I hope he turns. We went to a birthing class taught by my midwife this past weekend. We got some great information so we feel like we are ready!! A little nervous, but ready. Thank heavens! His room is about 80% done - so once we get that finished up we are good to go.
Cravings: Pomegranates and Vitamin Water Lemonade Flavor.... I crave liquids ALL THE TIME. I also crave sushi, Cadbury Eggs, and good Mexican food from Casa Grande.
Weird Pregnancy Symptoms: Nothing too weird. I feel like I ache as much as a 90 year old woman. My hips and back are aching at all times. There are so many pops and creaks that I feel like I'm going to come apart at the hinges at any second. Sleeping doesn't happen to easily bc of the aches and pains that don't go away while lying down - if anything they get worse. Umm... Let's see... I'm still the emotional roller coaster of a pregnant lady that I've always been.
My nesting instincts have been off the charts with this pregnancy. Before Christmas I was gung-ho to get a ton of house projects done. I painted our bedroom and finished that bedroom completely, I remodeled our entryway closet, and just recently we painted the baby's bedroom and are just about done with that. I keep having these desires to start these massive projects. Just in the past week I've looked at buying ducks, goats, and thought about emailing the cache valley arts director and asking him if he needs another choreographer for the children's theater this summer. I've had to restrain myself and keep telling myself - you are going to have a massive project in just a couple weeks here that will keep you plenty busy. Aye.
Labor Update: I get Braxton Hicks contractions all the time, but have been since 20 weeks. Sometimes I feel like I am getting them non stop all evening - but they never lead to anything.
The kids are so excited to meet their little brother. I'm so excited to go through the process of labor and a newborn all over again - for the last time.
