August Randoms

The highlight of this month was Marae participating in mutton bustin at the county fair fulfilling one of my life long dreams for one of my children.  She just happened to be the lucky one.  I don't think it would have been one of her life long dreams.  But she did great - the poor thing.  She won first place in the girls division and earned herself a giant belt buckle.

First Day of School

We were very excited for school to start after things shutting down so abruptly in March.  The kids had to wear masks the whole day during school which was an adjustment.  But we were just so happy to have things starting to normalize again.

Boone 4th Grade - Maestro Lopez & Mrs. Olsen
Marae 2nd Grade - Maestra Apolin & Mrs. Dahle
Adelyn Kindergarten - Mrs. Davis

The only one I wasn't ready for was Adelyn.  She's my baby.  She's suppose to stay with me forever.  She had a really hard time the first day of school.  She was hysterical with fear of not knowing anyone.  I had to peel her off after trying to sooth her in her seat for about 15 minutes.  I think the masks covering everyones faces really didn't help an already shy little girl.  I cried the whole way home.  Poor little Addie.  Luckily she came home very happy and excited to go the next day.  Growing up is hard.
