My new ward

So remember back in this post I was saying that I felt like the 'new guy' in my ward and was hoping for new friends being I didn't have any? Well, my prayers were answered because we ended up in a ward that has about 10 couples our age. When I went to church that first week I noticed that there were 4 other girls pregnant and due within a couple months of me. Well I immediately gained 10 new friends, all of who are SO kind and loving. I KNOW that they were an answer to a very needed prayer. Anyone who knows me knows that I need people in my life and suddenly I have so many and I am grateful.

Well my visiting teachers (who happen to be in this group mentioned above) threw me a Post Baby baby shower yesterday. That was so nice of them and so fun for all of us to get together and talk. This was also the first time all of us have had our babies together so OF COURSE we had to line them all up and take pictures.

We lined them up in order from oldest to youngest:

Taelin is 3 months, Ammon and Eddison (who were born on the same day) are two months, Madison is almost two months, and little Boone is one month. Isn't this just the cutest picture ever? I can't stop looking at it. I LOVE those chubby little boys in the middle!! So cute!!

Boone celebrated his party by taking a nap. But atleast he posed for the camera.

This is Eddison and his mommy Melissa. I love this little boys cheeks so much. He is just the most deliciously squishy baby ever.

PS: Little Boone has OFFICIALLY started smiling. He gave me his first smile yesterday afternoon and it melted my heart. No really... it melted my heart because my heart jumped when he did it - it scared me! I'm weird I know, but I was just so excited to see that little gummy smile and he has been doing it all day.

Parties and Fairs

Saturday night was our ward Trunk or Treat party. We went as farmers (last minute costume - can you tell??). I'm so excited for next year when I get to take my little guy around to get candy and really dress him up.

Friday night Mason and I went to the Arizona State Fair. I had never been. I've been to Utah's State Fair a couple of times, but this was my first AZ experience. It was MUCH bigger AND they had my delicious turkey legs that I love so much. It was fun.

We saw evil lamas that we were absolutely positive were going to bit our hands off. So we played the game, "Who can touch a lama?" It even has an evil red eye to prove it. Mason was braver than I was.

They have a free concert every night at the fair. We got to see Colbie Caillet. She sings the song, "Bubbly" along with others. I loved it! I guess Snoop Dogg played/sang/rapped (whatever he does) last weekend. Now THAT would have been entertaining to see him wiggling around like the snake/worm he looks like on stage. I'm sad we missed it. Ha!

It was an enjoyable date night. No, Boonie didn't come with us. He stayed home and bonded with Grandma again. But I did see a lot of little babies out and about at the fair. I wanted to tell all those mothers to take their babies home! Look at the MILLIONS of germs!! I have turned into a germ-a-phobic mother. Oh well... it will probably get better and better with each baby. H0pefully i haven't offended anyone who has taken their baby to a fair at one months age.

4 weeks...

My little Boonie is 4 weeks old today!! I can't believe how fast time has gone! He will be one month on Friday. Whew! What a month! We go in for his one month check up on Monday and I know he has grown so much. He's getting longer and those cheeks are getting chubbier. I love 'em!

Here's the low-down on Boone:

• He's a starer. He will stare at you with those big blue eyes. Careful though, if he stares too long it will make you cry. This has happened to me on multiple occasions.
• His eyes cross whenever he is happy and looking around - much to his daddy's dismay. Mason thinks it makes him look 'less smart.' I think it looks adorable and hilarious.
• He has a teradactol (I can't spell) scream. It's quite disturbing and luckily infrequent.
• He went to church for the first time this past Sunday and did WONDERFUL! We were able to stay for the whole 3 hours without any meltdowns!
• He is discovering his voice and using it to make different sounds. One sound he makes sounds exactly like he is saying, "Hiiii."
• Sometimes he sighs after sneezes and I just melt.
• He likes to listen to music.
• His hair still curls.
• He loves his baths.
• He has a clogged tear duct so when he wakes up in the morning it looks like a green spider is sitting on his eye - also disturbing.
• He's starting to hold his head up during tummy time.
• His chin quivers right before he cries.
• He fake coughs.
• His hands are his own worst enemy - always poking himself in the eyes and waking himself up - therefor he LOVES bring TIGHTLY wrapped up in a burrito especially at night.
• He gets kissed about 500 times a day. And here's why:

Time flies!!

The big 3-0

Yes, we just celebrated Mason's birthday on Friday. 30 years old! Can you believe it? I can't. I had imagined throwing a big surprise birthday party for him, complete with over the hill signs (even though that's not until later) but as the day got closer, I realized that that probably wasn't the best idea with a new born. So Grandma came up to babysit little Boone and we celebrated with the two of us by going to a matinee movie and dinner. It was a MUCH needed date that we enjoyed very much. I thought that that didn't seem like a very glamourous 30th birthday, but luckily Mason doesn't care about birthdays as much as I do.

Here's Mason's giant birthday cookie complete with 30 candles. It's so nice because Mason gets the whole next week off because it's fall break in his district. So that is a wonderful gift too - for me AND for him!

I love this picture above because this is the face of a daddy whose hand has just been exploded upon. Those of you who have babies know exactly what I'm talking about. I love that I caught it on camera. Priceless.

He's just so loved.

My little boy

First of all I have to give a HUGE thank you to this wonderful lady - my mom. She has been nothing short of a miracle these past couple of days. She has been such a help and support and I have LOVED being able to spend the past week with her and my new baby. Thank you so much Grandma (mom). Little Boone loves you so much and can't wait until you come back.

So I didn't want to spend a fortune on pictures and being I love to take my own, here is Boone's week old photo shoot. This little boy is so precious.

Notice the sad little scratch on his heel? Poor baby... that's where he got poked when we went to the doctor. But I love these long feet.
