Boone's First Food

Being Boone is now 6 months old we started him on solids Wednesday night. First he got his milk, like always. We took these pictures because this was the first time he was given his bottle in his bumbo and he just looked hilarious the way he was chugging it. Observe:

All by himself:

Anyway, so back to the post about his first food... We bought some baby oatmeal and here comes baby's first bite! Yum!

I think he liked it!!! I absolutely LOVE this picture:

I look at this picture below and think that most of it ended up on his face/bib... hopefully some got in that belly!

My little boy is growing up so fast! He tried green beans last night and clearly he didn't enjoy those as much as the oatmeal. I was only able to get about 4 spoons in... but I don't blame him... they were pretty gross. I wish I would have had pictures of the faces he was making. He kept shaking his head as if trying to shake out the nasty taste. It was funny.

Spring Break - Sedona

Spring break was last week and we had a WONDERFUL week together. It was the most I've seen of Mason since school started and I loved it and so did Boonie.

We spent a wonderful week at home doing yard work and house work and just lounging around enjoying the beautiful spring air. On Saturday we decided to drive up to Sedona and go on a picnic/hike. It's so pretty up there and Mason had never been so I had to take him.

We went down to Red Rock Crossing and did a mini-hike to a VORTEX along the river. It was so pretty. Here we are below standing on the vortex and receiving lots of positive energy from the earth. :)

Everything started out great. We used a new hiking backpack that my mom had bought for us at a garage sale a while back. The only problem was that Boonie was a little bit too little for it. So we had to prop him up with pillows and such.

It all started out in smiles...(and bubbles)

Along the river there were TONS of these piles of rock formations that people had put there. We think they were prayer rock piles...? But we're not sure. They were cool to look at though.

About halfway through what we wanted to be the whole hike we realized, with the help of Boone's vocal cords, that the seat he was sitting in made it impossible for him to take a nap and he was exhausted. Poor little guy. He fought it for a bit, but ended up losing the battle - which looked something like this:

We didn't want his head to snap off so Mason took him out and carried him the 30 minutes back to the car. It was pretty cute. This was also the first time Boone has gone to sleep in our arms. What a real baby he was being.

Boonie's basketball

I was going through my teaching stuff the other day and found this little basketball. Boonie is just in LOVE with it. Every time we bring it out he wants to hold it and always tries to get it in his mouth. He's such a cutie and all boy already. Don't you just love this little outfit too? Here come some pictures:

I am just in love with these blue eyes.

He's sitting up now. How about this grin? Mason calls it the bitter beer grin. He does it all the time.

It's a great life.

Our tree has already grown all it's leaves back. I just love our backyard right now.

Grammy was over visiting.

So fun!

St. Patrick's Day Dance

Sometimes on days when we never see Mason and get really bored (okay, I get really bored) Boonie and I will get onto photo booth and play around. Well here's one I took about two weeks ago and I just found it again. Being the song is an Irish song about a drunken sailor I figured it was perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

Please excuse the mess in the background. Please excuse my wild hair. Please excuse my 'very serious' face while Boonie is dancing. But enjoy. I think he was enjoying himself too. And yes... he stunk at the end. I know this video shows what the complete nerd I am... but if you are reading this then you already know that... Hmf.

Baby Pram

This stroller is OLD.  I'm not sure how old.  All I know is that my mom use to push her dolls around in it and I use to push my dolls around in it whenever I would visit Grandma's house up in Flagstaff.  Well one night in CG we wanted to go for a walk and I didn't have my stroller so we made use of the doll stroller with my real life doll.

He fell asleep on the way home.  He's my toy.

This is the street that I grew up on.

March Birthdays

At the beginning of March we celebrate 3 birthdays. My little brother Eric's, my Granddad (who is celebrating in heaven), and my dad.

We started off the week by celebrating Eric's 23rd birthday on the 8th. Happy birthday Eric! He had school that night so we could only celebrate during the day so we went to a birthday lunch.

On Friday the 11th was my dad's birthday. We went to Chavez park down by Kyle's house in Laveen to have a pizza picnic and feed the ducks.

It was such a beautiful evening. We enjoyed being together and feeding the ducks.

The Kyle Leybas family.

This picture below makes me smile. I love how Boone is like, "What's the matter with you?"

Happy birthday daddy! I'm happy we were here to celebrate it with you!

PS: I got the recipe to this cake at my friends' website called Kara in the Kitchen. She has some FABULOUS recipes on there that I have been enjoying. Check it out!

Boonie in a bonnet

No, that's not my son. I was looking through old photo albums that my Grandma has at her house and I found this picture of me when I was 2 months old. Umm... Boonie in a bonnet? Don't you think?

On Monday I was in Casa Grande shopping with my mom and we went to this Amish furniture store. We found this DARLING little rocking chair. I put my cell phone in it so you can tell how tiny it actually was.

What could make this chair any cuter?? A little boy sitting in it of course.

He loved this chair! I took a video on my phone and he was just laughing and smiling while rockin' away. If it wouldn't have been 70 dollars I would have bought it just for the next month he would still fit in it.
