Boone 5 Years Old

Oh my sweet little Boonie.  Look how adorable and big he is!!  5 years old?  Are you kidding me?  He's still my little buddy and such a good helper.  He's a pleaser and a sweet heart.  He is just so handsome in all these pictures.

He was so cute when we were taking these pictures.  It was just me and him.  He kept saying, "Let's try this pose?  What about this?"  He was a natural!

  • He loves his sister Adelyn.  He actually helps with her a lot.  He has saved her life twice in the past week.  Mother of the year award over here.  Once he caught her as she was falling out of her carseat in the car.  She doesn't usually sit up but that day she did and she wasn't strapped in yet.  I found him standing outside the car with her halfway to the ground.  I still haven't quite gotten over the shock of that one.  He also caught her before she fell down the stairs.  Thank heavens.
  • He's super smart and is learning how to read already.  He loves to learn.
  • He loves plants.  He is always saving seeds from anything he eats (apples, peppers, cucumbers, oranges) and he puts them in a little pack to plant next summer.  We were reading a Thanksgiving book the other day and he read how the Indians taught the Pilgrims to put fish in with their plants and he is bound and determined to do that next year.
  • He tells me I'm the most beautiful mommy in the world.  He always wants to snuggle me.
  • He still sleeps in a diaper.  Oh my baby Boonie.
  • His favorite toys are Legos.  He likes to build cars and robots.
  • He always wants to go on dates with mommy and daddy.  He has a chalkboard in his room and he will draw pictures of our next date that he wants to go on.
  • He's still my very social child.  He wants to be around us always.  He doesn't like to be alone.
  • He's funny and nothing gives him more pride than making people laugh.  Sometimes he will go to pretty extreme lengths to get a laugh.  There is a lot of face punching and bodily harm going on.
  • He felt the spirit for the first time a couple months ago.  The Young Women and I were singing a song in church and he looked up at Mason with tears in his eyes and said, "This song is making me cry..."
  • He is taking piano lessons from me and doing very well.
  • He loves to jump outside on the trampoline.  He can do a front flip.  He likes to ride his bike with no training wheels.
  • He likes ninjas right now and one of his favorite games is to wrestle on the trampoline like a ninja.
