Grandma and Grandpa Visit!

My parents came up to visit and also to go to a Glen Beck conference.  My dad is a major Glen Beck fan so they spent a lot of their time at that.  Here he is below meeting his 'star':

So they spent half the days in Salt Lake attending the conference activities and hanging out with Ryan. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they spent with us.  Monday we just took it easy at home and played the games my dad gave us for Capitalist Christmas.  Tuesday was a busy day.  In the morning we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point and then up the mountain to make tin foil dinners and go on a little hike.  The pictures uploaded backwards so you'll get to see up the canyon first.

This was our picnic spot along the river.

After dinner we drove up to Tibble Fork and walked around up there.  It was beautiful.

I loved their expressions in each of these photos.

Mason took these of his 'girls':

I love it when she smashes her face into mine like this:

Marae hugs!!

I think Marae looks so pretty in this one.

The typical face he gives when asked to take a picture:

These two are buddies:

And here are pictures from the dinosaur museum.  That place was amazing!!  Boonie was a little nervous to go in at first but once he figured out they weren't alive he really enjoyed it.  In the picture below we were trying to get him to stand their by himself but he wouldn't because he thought for sure those skeletons were going to get him.

He was terrified of this shark!!

We always have so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa!  Wednesday we spent the morning shopping (much to Grandpa's dismay) and then they left that afternoon.  Luckily they will be back up in a couple weeks when Ryan has his baby so we don't have to miss them too much.

The 4th of July

My parents came up for the 4th which we were all so excited about.  I was having parental withdrawls and I know Boonie missed them too.

Backing up though, we started the day off by going to a BBQ at Mason's grandmother's old folks home.  Mason's parents left for France the day before for two weeks so we have the house to ourselves.  I didn't take my camera, but we had a nice time listening to music, eating yummy food, and watching Boonie play on the bounce houses.  GG (Maragret) is suffering from alzheimer's and is slowly getting worse and worse.  I was happy to spend the time with her and let her know she was loved.

After naps we went up to Ryan and Stacey's house where my parents were staying for a BBQ.  Stacey is due in 3 weeks and her poor feet were the size of balloons.  Mason is an expert massuer so I insisted that he give her a foot massage being Ryan can't stand feet.  My mom thought it was funny and snapped a couple pictures of everyone hanging out.  In the picture below Boone is rubbing lotion on Ryan's leg too.

I like how Ryan always has his arm draped over her belly.

Boonie hung out in Stacey's foot soaking pool while they cooked the hamburgers.  Marae decided she hates Ryan's house and refused to take a nap for about 2 hours straight.  Those dang teeth were killing her that night!!  Poor little girl!!

After dinner we drove up to a hill in Holladay that overlooks the city.  We laid out blankets right on the hill and watched all the fireworks all over the city.

I love how Mason and Boonie have the same face in this one.

Marae took a little nap in the car and then joined us for the fireworks for her 1st 4th of July.

Marae 10.5 Months

Sweet Baby Rae is now growing like a weed!!!  She isn't my little baby anymore and has changed so much this month.  She is a goof with a giganticly contagious smile that I adore.

She loves baked beans!!

 What she's doing now:

  • She's cutting her 4 top teeth and has been for a while.  Just yesterday I noticed her right front tooth poke through and her left canine has been peeking through for about a week now.   Poor little girl.
  • She says MAMA!!  She'll say it whenever she wants something or I walk away.  I'm sure she'll say mama to Mason if it were just him and her, but still - I'm proud.
  • She officially crawls.  She was just doing the army crawl thing (like Boonie did) and I wondered why my children were the only on earth who never crawled but just yesterday and today I've noticed her up on her knees the majority of the time.  She loves her new found world of getting around
  • She'll try and pull herself up on things.  Her favorite thing to pull herself up on is me.  She hasn't had much success on anything else, except the stairs, but I can see she wants to.
  • She makes a yoshi type sound all the time.  It sort of sounds like yodeling.
  • Her favorite toy right now is her Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal our neighbor gave Boonie right before we left that he never cared about.  She LOVES the thing and anytime she sees it insists on holding it.  I know what you are thinking Stacey... I hate Winnie the Pooh.  Well being Marae loves him SO MUCH he's growing on me.
  • She likes to play peek-a-boo with her blanket.
  • She still gets the hickups when she laughs hard.
  • I know it sounds silly to say but I actually think she's quite funny.
This little lady has us all wrapped around that cute little finger of hers.

Paddle Boarding

Saturday Laura took us all Paddle Boarding up in Herriman.  It was surprisingly easy and lots of fun.

Bryan, Lilah, Tandi, and Scottie

I caught the action shot!  Adrian, Zach, Sydney (pushing off Zach), Wolfie in the water, and Gabey on the yellow board.

Boonie was the mermaid on the front of a lot of people's boats.

Mason lost his glasses somewhere in the middle of the lake.  Boo.  He didn't have any other pair and his contacts were in a box up in Logan so he drove up there yesterday, went to our ward and got some contacts.  Looks like we'll go glasses shopping tomorrow!!  Although we are thinking Lasik, anyone had this done??  Other than that it was a great day with the family!!
