Christmas 2013!!

Here were my two Christmas babies the Sunday before Christmas.  I am so blessed with two healthy, smart, spirited little darlings.  I love them so much.

This picture above almost didn't happen.  It was actually the last one I took.  Here are the rest... My busy little girlie didn't want to have anything to do with taking a picture.

Then we added a distraction:

Here was our Christmas card this year:

The 23rd we went sledding on the new sled Nana gave us.  There is a great hill right behind our house at the nature park.  The kids loved it.

Christmas Eve we went to an old folks home with 3 other families in our ward: The Kelstrom's, Peterson's, and Murdock's.  We all sang Christmas songs with the old people.  It was very nice.  Boonie wanted to sing, "I am a Child of God" all by himself in front of them.  I was so proud.  It was a great start to Christmas and I think we will carry that tradition on from now on.

After the caroling we went bowling with the Peterson's and Kelstrom's and then had a brunch at the Kelstrom's house.

We had a great day.  That night we put out cookies and carrots for the reindeer.  It was absolutely magical with Boonie being 3 years old.  He was so sweet and so full of wonder.  He kept telling us over and over how Santa was going to get down the chimney.  He even went outside and looked for him once.  He couldn't get to sleep.  He barely fell asleep right before we did at 9:30.

We read Luke 2 and acted out the Nativity with their Little People Nativity Set.  Boonie got to open some new pajamas, we sang a couple Christmas songs, left the cookies out, read a couple Christmas books and then went to sleep.  He made sure to tell Jack the Elf goodbye.  He thanked him for always playing 'hide and seek' with him each morning.  The whole night was so sweet and special.  I loved spending it with my little family.

Marae was so curious as to why a plate full of cookies was placed at her level:

He was so particular as to where we place the milk and cookies.

Then Santa came!!

The next morning Marae woke up at 7:30 with no Boonie in tow.  So we sent Marae in there to wake him up - he never oversleeps.  He saw her come in and basically flew out of bed asking if Santa had come.  We opened stockings and then had breakfast.

Boonie must have been good this year because Santa brought him what he asked for - lots of cars!!  Marae got a remote that she loves - of course.  She has an obsession with those things.

My sweet little darlings got all kinds of spoiled this year!!  I love their kitchen.  Marae especially loves to play with the food.  It was a wonderful Christmas!!

Gingerfest 2013

We hosted an Ugly Sweater Christmas party called Gingerfest this year.  It was a blast!!  We had 7 couples there.  We started with a gingerbread building contest that was intense.  We then had a white elephant gift exchange and ended with a game of mafia.  I'm so thankful for so many fun couples in our ward!!  I took pictures of everyone with their houses.  Everyone did so well!!

Brad and Lindsey Kelstrom - these two are an answer to many prayers on my behalf of making new friends when we moved up here.  They are great and we love them so much!!  Their entry was titled, "Rustic Country Christmas."

Anna and David Sherwood with "The Polar Express."

Richie and Renee Peterson with "Snowman Hospital."  Renee won the contest of best mustache.

Ryan and Liesl Cannon with "Hobbit Hole."  These two won 1st place when our group voted at the end.  They live downstairs from us.  Ryan is the landlord's son.  They let us use their basement for the gingerbread decorating part of the party.  I loved the hobbit hole!!

Jocelyn and Mike Murdock with "Old School."  This one won 2nd place.

Robert and Melanie Allred with "Snowman Graveyard."  This one won last place and therefore Robert had to serenade his wife later on that night.  It was quite hilarious.

And last but not least, ours titled "Two by two."

Kyle and Stacey judged the entries via Skype and they did a great job.  They chose ours as 1st place but we felt guilty being we had hosted the party and had experience so we passed on the first place winnings to the 2nd place winners.  I do have to say that this is our best gingerbread house yet!!

The next day Boonie made a fire truck gingerbread house with all the leftover candy.

Man!!  Looking back at all these posts we certainly did have a busy month!!  This was the last major event.  We had the rest of the week before Christmas to enjoy it with our babies.

December Randoms

The 14th was Collin Kelstrom's birthday.  Boonie just loves Collin.  I'd say Collin is Boonie's best friend right now.  He had a bowling party.  This was the first time Boonie had been bowling and he loved it.

Here is Collin, Boonie, and Theron Peterson.

We made some cookies for Santa.

This was a first for me - scraping ice off the inside of my windows as well as the outside.  Luckily I think I'll be able to avoid this in the future.  We were leaving the house WAY early (like 8) to go to Walmart to get their after Christmas items.  I don't usually venture out into the world until 10 at the earliest.  The windows are usually warmed up by then.

Superman has to study too, you know.

This has got to be one of my all time favorite pictures!!  Wild baby Rae!!  She was crawling through the tent we made on the couch.

Let It Snow!!

December 19th we woke up to a wonderland of snow!!  It snowed about a foot and a half and the kids were so excited to go out and play in it while we shoveled.  It made for the perfect white Christmas the week before.

I love the way Rae looks in her snow pants with her ghetto booty.

I love this wild one.
