Me and Mrs. Jones

That's right. At school this year I dressed up at Indiana Jones. The kids loved it! This was one of my students from 2 years ago. He was dressed as Indiana Jones too. He and his mom came by after school to get a picture together.

Mason wouldn't kiss me goodbye because he said I looked too much like my brother Kyle with my 5 o'clock shadow. He doesn't seem to mind being too close in this other picture though... Hmm... what do you think?

The school parties were fun. It was a hyper active busy day complete with a little 'butterfly princess' projectile vomiting 3 times all over my room on her way to the trash can. Ahhh... good times.

Here are our pumpkins. We made a mighty good mess carving these but had fun as always!

Jingle Bells Frankenstein Smells...

That was the song I heard yesterday as we were making our cut-out Frankenstein crafts for Halloween. I can't say I've ever heard Christmas songs being sung while working on our Halloween projects.

This is what it looked like outside my classroom this morning when I got to school. Yes you may be thinking it looks like the middle of the night... you're right. That's how it feels when I get there.

Witches Night Out '09

It was a success! I loved my new hat. Don't you??

My cute mom.

Klara and I.

We didn't get our fortunes told because we got there too late. Dang it. But I guess it doesn't really matter... last year my mom asked if she would be a Grandmother within the year and clearly she isn't.

Lots of fun!!

Birthday Celebrations

This past week was fall break and I was so happy to spend it with my parents.  They drove up from Arizona and got here last Thursday.  We had a lot of fun and did a lot of things in those 4 days they were here.  Luckily it was my mom's birthday.  I haven't gotten to spend a birthday with her since... who even knows when!

So here she is!  Happy birthday mom!  Don't you love the cheesy blow up birthday cake.  I do.

We went to see Where the Wild things are for her birthday and while we were waiting we stopped in the arcade.  She played Deal or No Deal and won 503 tickets!  She had actually chosen the case with 1,000 tickets but opted for the banker's option just in case at the last second.  She would have won!

Here she is as she is gathering her winnings!  I'll tell you every kid in the place wanted to be her best friend to cash in on some of those tickets.  I'm surprised we didn't get jumped.

Mason and I playing in the fountain.

Another day we went for a hike up to Battlecreek Falls.  It was so pretty up there with all the changing leaves.

The classic timer pose.

Ryan and I at the top - me holding our subway lunch.

My parents at the top.  I'm so proud that they made it!  It was a little steeper than I remember it being... but they made it none the less!  It was worth it.

I love this picture of them.  I think it's one of the best I've got of the two of them.  I love it when they come but hate it when they leave.  I just wish there wasn't a 12 hour drive in between us.  Thanks for coming guys!

Birthday Boy

For lack of a better picture (I'm on my school computer and this is the only one I have) here he is!

Happy Birthday Hun!

He is such a peach.

PS: This picture totally represents how I feel today. It's parent teacher conferences which also means I won't be able to do anything special for Mason. We will postpone it until tomorrow. This happened last year too! Bah.

It is not good that Autumn be alone...

Today in class we were reading a book about Fall. Here was the conversation:

Me: (reading a book) Leaves turn different colors in autumn. (asking the class) Did you know that autumn is another word for fall?
Maxwell: Oh! Oh! I know!! Like Autumn and Eve!!

Basically the same thing.
