Gone fishin'

Tomorrow we are driving up to Idaho for the week to the Snake River to go white-water rafting.  I'm so excited!

We are going with Quintin - one of my best friends from high school who is a river guide up there.

As you can see... he's quite the character.  We are going to have so much fun!

I'll let you know how it goes!

Not much has been going on lately...  I am taking classes at the district office and getting college credits working towards a lane change... which basically means more money.  Other than that we have just been doing little things here and there.

The absolute highlight of my week was hanging out with a bunch of my best friends that rarely ever get together.  We were roomies in college.  Kara (right) lives in CA and was out visiting, and Natalie and I live in the same state but NEVER see each other for some reason.  These two girls are my favorite and we had so much fun together.  It had been about a year since we all have hung out.

Then yesterday we went mini-golfing with Chris, one of Mason's best friends.  This is a picture of what happens when my ball goes off the bridge and Mason retrieves it for me.  I love this picture because you can just see Chris jeering at him!

Our 'extended' anniversary...

We have been stretching out our anniversary for as long as possible.  Here are some of things we have been doing.  My cute mom sent us these matching aprons with our names on them for our gift.  We love them so much!

We take turns planning our anniversaries and it was my year this year.  We were suppose to go to the Melting Pot and get massages the night of our anniversary, but Mason took the LSAT that day.  He was so tired that night that we decided to celebrate a different night.  So last weekend we went to the Melting Pot.  Neither of us had been before.

Ooooo... so yummy.  Especially the dessert.

We had chocolate everywhere by the time we were done taking these pictures.  We went and got massages afterwards.

Yesterday we went to Lagoon.  It's a theme park here in Utah that has all kinds of fun roller-coasters and attractions.  It was great because it rained some yesterday so there were NO lines.  We walked right up to everything.  It was awesome!

I love theme parks and I'm always up for any ride but I H-A-T-E  this ride.  HATE Hate hate.  It's the scariest ride on the planet.  I don't know why it freaks me out so much.  It's just the anticipation of it dropping when you get up there.  Well Mason claims that this is his favorite ride and being I'm his ride buddy now (a ride buddy is what we got when we got married... we never have to worry about not having someone to sit next to, and feeling like a loser, on rides anymore) I have to go on it.  And I'm a good ride buddy so I always, always do.  I swear he doesn't even like the ride that much.  He just loves to watch me FREAK OUT at the top every time.  So we went on it at the beginning so I wouldn't have to be anxious about it the rest of the day.

But he's a good ride buddy because I love the water rides.

You are probably noticing a trend in our pictures.  We can only take pictures from an arms length.  So sorry if all the poses are similar.

We had wanted to ride the ferris wheel last but they closed it early because of the rain so we rode this ski lift type ride that goes all the way across the park last.  Right when we got to the highest part right in the middle of the park there was a HUGE bolt of lightening and it started to pour rain.  I freaked out, again, because we were stranded on this ride and i was certain we were going to get hit by lightening... we took this picture below hoping to catch some more lightening...  it was pretty intense.  We were the last ones on the ride.  Kinda freaky...

So that's the end of our anniversary... we now don't have any other excuse to spend money on fun things.  That's secretly why we were stretching it out so long.

How teachers spend their time off...

I stole this post from one of my co-workers... she had the camera that day and she did such a good job putting it into words.  Thanks Kristina!  This makes up for the Sponebob picture... haha!

I work with some truly amazing people! One of the best parts about being a teacher is having the summer months off. Yippee! But the bad part is that I don't get to see the other teachers everyday. Our first grade team is seriously going through withdrawals! We've already done several things together. There is actually seven of us that teach first grade, but there are four of us that like to get out and do something fun. One week after school got out Allison, Jacquie, Kim and I went to lunch and then to the spa for manicures.

Kim and I. We opted to not eat in the picture.

At the spa...

I can't think of a better way to spend one of many days off!

Our Garden Friends...

These are the neighbors that live in our backyard...

Meet Nutmeg and his two little goat friends...

These little guys sound so cute whenever we come out to water our garden...

Our garden is doing so well!  I love coming out everyday to see how they have grown.

Beans and peas...
Romaine lettuce...
And lastly... our tomatoes...  We are thinking about moving.  Hopefully we will get to see the fruits of our harvest.

Happy Anniversary

Two years ago today I married my best friend.  I love this man so much.  I am so lucky to be with him.  We have been through so much together.  Our relationship has been a roller coaster ride from the beginning but we have grown together so strong.  He is an example to me in so many ways.  I can't imagine my life without him.

I love looking at the pictures from our wedding.  It seems like so long ago, but then it seems like we just got married.  The pictures bring me back to the day and I fall in love all over again.  He is such a beautiful person inside and out.

I look at these pictures and I feel like we are so young.  I am always telling Mason, "Look at how young you were"... which is silly I know, (only two years right?!) but I feel like we were such babies - two babies starting out on their own journey of life.  Look how far we've come hun.

I love you.
Happy Anniversary.

Monday is a very long anticipated day.  Mason is going to take the LSAT which is the preparatory test before law school.  I'm so proud of him.  He had been preparing for a very long time.  I know that he will do great.  Good luck hun!!

After this hopefully there won't be so many moments like this... actually there will probably be twice as many once he's actually in Law School and studying there... but that's okay.  I will just continue to take pictures of him without him knowing.

Nature Girls

Klara and I drove up to Silver Lake up American Fork canyon to celebrate our first week of summer.  It was beautiful up there!  There was hardly anyone up there.
We also saw a cute little snake but I couldn't get my camera out fast enough...

We saw this little waterfall on the way back down...

It was so much fun.  You need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up there... and that's exactly what Klara has!  We have had many adventures in that truck!  I LOVE THIS TRUCK!
We drove up to the abandoned mine.  We hiked around a little bit, ate subway sandwiches, and played a game or two.
If you know me I love to take pictures... especially random or goofy ones.  This picture is one that I took with my camera timer.  We were both trying to jump in the air.  This was the closest one we got to being off the ground.
These next ones I had set the camera to take 5 pictures in a row.  I set the camera across the river and then I had to run across the bridge to make it in time.  I did not... but I made it about the 3rd one.  I love these pictures!

Wild woman in the bushes...

Sliding in!

Made it!

We had a wonderful time.  I love being out in nature!

A Lefler Tale...

I just uploaded a bunch of pictures off of my mother-in-law's computer that I have been meaning to get for a while.  So I will give a bunch of little quips for these new pictures...
I have two of the cutest nieces in the world.  They always ask me to read them stories...

Me cutting cheese at Grandma Lefler's...

I love this picture.  My nieces and nephews did a puppet show for us.  Then after they were done the brothers got up and did one.  It was hilarious!

My sleepy grumpy bug...

This was us on Easter...
I married into the greatest family...  They do the funnest things!
